There is nothing new I can add for this age-old eatery - this is an iconic restaurant in food map of Kolkata, conveniently located at Mullickbazar crossing on the Park street side. For the last 75 years it has established itself as the most famous Biriyani joint in Calcutta. We visited this one during or winter vacation to Calcutta. Recently after renovation it has become more comfortable and modern looking. On weekends the size of the queue outside it is quite sizable. The most famous menu options are Chicken Biriyani, Mutton Rezala, Chicken chap, Firni and Haleem. We ordered a Chicken biriyani, a Special Chicken Biriyani ( extra portion, one more chicken piece and egg as special addition), Rezala, Tandoori Roti and Carrot Halwa. Everything was excellently tasty except the halwa. The service was excellent and fast, seating was little congested but overall ambience was good. The price has increased over time but still is not overtly expensive. One special mention should be made for its fluffy rotis which is excellently soft. BTW, there is a parking place just opposite to the restaurant which is rare in such a busy junction. I would give a 4.5 rating.
